Privacy

Short version: your files stay on your Mac.

What FileShelf reads

Only the folders you choose. It builds its search index, previews and recognised text on your Mac and stores them in the app's own container. You can remove a folder, or clear everything, in Settings.

What leaves your Mac

Your license key and an anonymous name for this Mac, sent to FileShelf's license server when you activate, check or deactivate a license. Nothing about your files is ever sent.

Clipboard History

Off until you turn it on. Clips are stored on your Mac only. Copies marked private by password managers are never recorded, one-time codes delete themselves after two minutes, and you can exclude any app or clear the history in Settings.

Payments

Checkout is handled by Stripe. We receive your email and order details so we can send your key and help you; we never see your card.
